Who We Are
Laurence Eisenstein is a graduate of Harvard University magna cum laude and a graduate of Harvard Law School cum laude. Mr. Eisenstein has been handling insurance matters and complex litigation for twenty-five years, and has frequently been called upon to handle claims in excess of $100 million. He is a frequent speaker and author on insurance issues, both in the U.S. and in other countries, and has been widely quoted by the press on these topics.
Dr. John Malanchuk received a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Georgia, and an M.A. and a B.S. in Biology from SUNY/Plattsburgh. He has been a University Professor, a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Senior Executive Service, and an officer in an environmental company. Dr. Malanchuk has published extensively and has been handling environmental matters for over thirty-five years, and has been working on environmental insurance claims full-time for more than ten years.
David Biss is a graduate of American University with a B.S. in Business Administration. Mr. Biss has over ten years of experience in financial modeling for insurance claims recovery. In addition, he has extensive experience in insurance archeology, analysis of liability insurance policies, and reconstruction of historic cost data, and of corporate histories.
Diane Butler hails from the insurance industry where she began her career in the Legal Department of Travelers Insurance Company, making coverage determinations in large exposure, environmental and toxic tort claims. She has brought that perspective and unique insurance industry experience to the policyholder side and has been successfully settling such claims for twenty-two years. She has participated in the negotiation of claims leading to over $185 million in settlements, is licensed to practice law in Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Maryland, and has attained the Associate Risk Manager (ARM) designation.
Margo Ramage, a Senior Consultant, has over twenty-five years of experience in the insurance industry, working for insurance companies and insurance brokerage firms on claims, underwriting, marketing, product development, and training. Ms. Ramage received a B.A. from the University of Dayton (Ohio) and holds numerous professional designations including Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), RIMS Fellow (RF), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM). She is on the faculty of the National Alliance for Insurance Research and Education, where she is a frequent instructor for the Certified Risk Management International designation program.
Ellen Snyder is a graduate of Harvard University cum laude in chemistry and a graduate of Columbia University School of Law. Following clerkships with two federal judges, Ms. Snyder has handled legal work for a wide range of corporate and governmental entities over the past twenty-five years. Ms. Snyder has both a legal and scientific background, among other things having worked as a Systems Engineer for IBM Corporation.
